Girl Scouts Rock the Mall is honored to have outstanding artists as our guest song leaders. These fabulous artists come from a wide range of musical backgrounds: folk, country, opera, jazz, soul, rock 'n'roll and more. They will lead the singing from the stage with a range of songs that will include traditional songs that we have been singing for years, as well as the new songs that girls enjoy today. And, there are always surprises!


Ani Hesse

Ani Hesse

IGNITE, the official theme song for Girl Scouts Rock the Mall, features the voice of rising young singing star Ani Hesse. 12-Year-old Ani is a third-generation Girl Scout, and a Cadette in Greater Los Angeles Troop 527 or, as they have nicknamed themselves, “Troop Hollywood”. She was born in Guatemala and raised on Maui, and is now living in LA following her dreams. Ani's most favorite thing about being a Girl Scout is the "sisterhood" and connection to all Girl Scouts and Girl Guides worldwide.

An all-female a cappella group based in the DC area that was founded in 2008, Capital Blend sings mostly contemporary works, especially Pop, Rock, R&B, Country and Oldies (but goodies!). The group's mission has always been about spreading female empowerment through song. They are, in addition to co-group members, friends, and in many ways, sisters.

Erin Willett

We are proud to call Erin Willett one of our own. Erin is a lifetime Girl Scout in the Nation’s Capital Council and a native of Gaithersburg, MD. Growing up in a musical family she found comfort in the joy of performing. Erin proves that huge heart translated through a stellar voice can change people, make them dance, sing along, jump for joy and truly experience the splendor of great music. Erin performed with Melinda Caroll and 45 Girl Scouts and Guides on the 2005 recording of "Girl Scouts Greatest Hits, Volume 7 We Are Family." Erin was also semifinalist on the NBC's "The Voice Season 2". Welcome home Erin!

Dana is a 17-year-old Girl Scout Ambassador with Troop 81893 in New Jersey.  She has earned both the Bronze and Silver Award, and is currently working on her Gold Award.  She is a junior at Old Bridge High School and a proud member of the Tri-M Honors Society, National Honor Society, and the French Honors Society.  Dana Marie has been singing for as long as she can remember, and also plays piano, guitar, and ukulele.  She is a lead singer for the OBHS stage band, Cloud 9, sings with the chamber choir, and plays flute with the wind ensemble and concert band.

Melinda has called Hawaii home since 1979. As a songwriter, producer, performer, recording artist, dancer, business woman, a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and mom, Melinda has been an inspirational creative force behind music for Girl Scouts since 1989. During that time she has received multiple honors for her Girl Scouts-inspired music, including Woman of Distinction, The Thanks Badge, National Song Leader for Girl Scouts of the USA and induction into the Girl Scout Council of Hawaii Alumnae Hall of Fame. Composer of the song IGNITE, the Girl Scouts Rock the Mall official theme song, she currently is a leader for Girl Scout Daisy Troop 486, performs in concert and facilitates music workshops worldwide in celebration of Girl Scout's 100th Anniversary.
